Who loves October ? We do, in this house! October is the favorite month for many reasons. This year, October was an adventurous month. We took a quick trip traveling across the country to sunny California. But before I jump into that exciting news, let's first talk about October.
First and most importantly the month of October is all about the Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee. There are fun outdoor events like pumpkin picking, apple picking, pumpkin painting & pumpkin carving. There is also decorating the yard with Halloween decorations, cookie making and lets not forget about the local fairs. Of course, the best is Halloween!
Growing up Halloween has always been a big deal. My mom went above and beyond with our customized costumes along to putting on our makeup. When I had children of my own, I showed them how Halloween can be so much more than a one day event on the last day of the month. The last week in October Olivia and I always dress up in previous costumes from years before leading up to the big day of "Halloween". There are various events we attend. Some are school related, and others are charity community events. This year we attended the First Annual Pumpkin Pageant at the local library.
Whichever ones we attend, we remember to always have fun. Because it’s #allaboutfun.
This year we decided to do things a little different with some online fun. On The Go With Princess O ran a Shop For A Cause and a coloring contest for The Crayon Initiative Nonprofit Organization which Olivia supports. The Crayon Initiative is a Nonprofit Organization that collects used and unwanted crayons, melts them down, rebuilds them and donates them to children in hospitals that are sick. Each purchase of a Halloween Coloring Book, benefits the shipping cost from the crayons Olivia collected during the 2020-2021 school year.
The coloring contest ran for the whole month of October. To enter the contest you had to follow the contest rules, which were:
